Welcome to The Burnhams Surgery
The surgery is open Monday to Fridays 08.00am to 06.30pm.
We offer extended opening on Tuesday mornings, Thursday mornings and Wednesday evenings for pre-booked appointments.
If you need to see a doctor or nurse in an emergency you can call the Surgery on 01328 737000 during opening times or the patient can be taken immediately to the Surgery if well enough to be moved.
Out of HoursPlease call the Out of Hours Service via Telephone no 111. You will be asked for your name and telephone number by the operator and the Doctor will call you back to ask about your symptoms after which he will either give advice or ask you to come and see him at the emergency surgery. He will come and see you if he considers it necessary.
If your call is not an emergency please make an appointment in the normal way.
Please telephone the Surgery 01328 737000 before 10.30am. We have a large practice area and visiting patients at home should only occur if they are unable to attend the surgery. Home visits are generally for acutely ill patients who cannot travel, those receiving terminal care and house bound patients. Our community car scheme can bring patients to the surgery as needed.

The Burnhams Surgery - Latest News & Campaigns
NHS Friends & family Test 'FFT' - 1st December 2014,
As of the 1st December 2014 the Friends and Family Test feedback card will be available in GP practices.
The Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important feedback tool that supports the fundamental principle that people who use The Burnhams Surgery should have the opportunity to provide feedback on their experience.
The FFT card supplied in Reception asks people if they would recommend the services they have used and offers a range of responses. When combined with supplementary follow-up questions, the FFT provides a mechanism to highlight both good and poor patient experience.
The feedback gathered through the FFT is being used in NHS organisations across the country to stimulate local improvement and empower staff to carry out the sorts of changes that make a real difference to patients and their care.
While the results will not be statistically comparable against other organisations because of the various data collection methods, FFT will continue to provide a broad measure of patient experience that can be used alongside other data to inform service improvement and patient choice.
The Burnhams Surgery would appreciate it if you would take the opportunity to complete a feedback card which can be found in reception, once completed please place inside the box located on the reception/Visitors table. The cards will be collected regulary by the Practice Manager and will be reviewed monthly by the Partners and Management team prior to being submitted to NHS England.
CQC/Intelligent Monitoring Report - 18th November 2014
Our patients may be aware that CQC have published 'Intelligent Monitoring Reports' on all GP practices. This has led to a priority rating for CQC inspection. Our surgery has been rated a '1' meaning that we are of the highest priority to inspect.
CQC has confirmed that this is not a judgement on a practice's quality which can only be determined by a CQC visit which our surgery is yet to have.
Our patient feedback data is good with 94% of patients describing the overall experience of our GP surgery as fairly or very good which is well above the national average. Looking closely at the data, it appears that our high priority status is a result of our clinical quality audit data (eg. review of schizophrenic patients). We are investigating this but believe that the issue is one of clinical coding within our computer system rather than poor quality of care to our patients.
We believe that we offer the highest service to our patients and look forward to CQC visiting and inspecting our practice to confirm this.
